A pole dancer/circus performer exhibits an aerial pose with gravity-defying strength and beauty.
I created this painting when I was training in pole fitness. I injured my shoulder and could not use my right arm for some time while it healed. I missed the activity and expression of dance. Instead of pole dancing, I took to painting with my non-dominant hand to push the boundaries of creative expression. This resulted in a unique painting style completely different than my norm. The brush stroke texture and altered movement in the painting have a distorted reality that reflects my inner feelings while temporarily disabled.
